Scholars,We decided last Monday that we would only meet virtually for the remainder of the semester. I'd like to congratulate those of you who have done what I have asked. Your posts and contributions to the class have been fantastic, You will be very successful if you keep it up.I'd like to encourage those of you who have engaged in mediocrity to take it up a few notches. Many of you will need to get serious if you wish to fulfill the plans you shared with the class at the beginning of the semester. Attending the university is a full time job!For this mornings assignment I'd like for you to reflect and share with us after almost completing a semester at the university. What do you want to do? What are your goals and how have they changed after a semester at the university? What are you gonna need to do to get where you want to go?prof_chuck
After the semester, I still have the same major, Education. I still want to be a teacher. I realize that I need to study more. I think I am doing okay in my classes, but I could do better. I am really excited for Christmas break though, and ready to start next semester.
I used to laugh about people changing their majors a thousand times, but now that I want to I completely understand! So my MOW or my Major of the Week is Nursing. I've decided that I'm not called to teach. I do love kids, but maybe the classroom isn't where I'm supposed to be with them there. I definitely want to help people and make a difference. So I've decided that this is a good plan for right now. In order to do this I will have to research about all of the major requirements bc i know that they're different. I'll keep you posted on whether this works out.
My major has changed three times now. From business to bio and back to business. Even though I have made all these changes I'm still not sure if business is really what I want to do. Whatever I do next semester I really need to study more and spend more time on school. I've picked it up at the end but I don't know if it'll help any. I feel like when I have that chance to start again I'll be okay.
Ok. So I have decided (i think) that I want to continue with Biology. It's going to be very hard, but hopefully I can do it!!! My goals at the beginning were that I wanted to have lots of fun and hang out with people and do all kinds of fun stuff, and now, I just want to pass and do good for the remainder of the year. I need a miracle is what I really need!!!
What do I want to do?I have always dreamed of becoming a doctor and everyone in my family is sort of looking for me to do just that. So that is my goal. Through going to seminars about pre-med and all, I have realized that I have a long road ahead of me, and that I will not always be near my parents or family like I know they will want and expect me to be.What are my goals and how have they changed after a semester?Som My long-term goal is to become a Medical Doctor. But right now, my goals are to get A's in all of my classes because I want a 4.0 average. I am a little dissappointed in myself, because I have B's. But I can definitely live with that. I just don't know how my parents will react if I don't pull off A's in all 5 of my classes. My goals at the beginning of the semester were to have fun being away from my parents for the first time as well as make good grades. My goals have now changed to make good grades, then friends, boyfriends, and work. What am I gonna need to do to get where I want to go?For my long-term goal, I am gonna need patients, motivation, and better study skills. For my short term goals, I am just going to have to make well on my finals and hope that that will pull an 88 up to a 90 so I can get 4 points...
Well with almost a semester under my belt, i feel i hav reached several goals for myself, but also have set some much higher and set new ones. I am wanting to tranfer someone else to go to nursing school. Possibly Mercer or Emory (if mom and dad can pay).I think so far this semester has gone well and am looking forward to seeing how next semester goes.
I plan on staying here next semester. After completing this semester I think that I need to work a lot harder to get where I would like to go. I plan on taking eighteen hours next semester so that I will be ahead and so that I can get some courses out of the way. My goals have changed in that I have higher standards for myself next semester, and I can't wait for it to start so that I can begin working more towards getting where I would like to go.
I want to become a nurse, and I am working hard to try to keep my grades up so that I can achieve this goal. My goals have'nt really changed this semester because I still want to be a nurse, and I knew before I started that I would have to work hard and study to accomplish my goals. After I get my BSN then I may go to the Medical College of Georgia where I can specialize in pediatrics and become a pediatric nurse. However, I am not sure if that is what I will do or not. In the meantime, I am going to try to get some experience working in the hospital.
Well through this semester i have discovered that pharmacy is not the track for me. The only reason i wanted to do that was because it was a fairly easy job that makes a lot of money. Now my goals are to just go through school and get a degree. I don't know what yet but I'm searching. All i know is that i enjoy working outside and i am a hands on person. Any suggestions would be nice.
I want to be a physical Therapist so I have been so busy doing everything possible for my biology classes. My goals have changed in the way that I need to get more serious about my studying and my priorities. I know I've screwed a few things up since I started here. and Like Chuck said, It does get you. I am going to need to step it up, really concentrate, and try my hardest. In order for me to do this, I need to go ahead and get organized, study study study, and think about whats coming up with plenty of time in advance.
I think that I'm going to go into Business Management, but I'm still not sure. My goal is to simply get the essential stuff out of the way, so I can transfer for a different major if I decide to later. My goal for the year is just to attempt to get a 3.0 GPA. I'm going to have to change my study skills next semester, but I'm learning from my mistakes.
I still currently want to continue with my nursing major. Some goals for I want to achieve as I continue through school are to get into the nusing program at NGCSU. I also want to develop better study habits. I am going to need a lot of coffee to get where i'm going and of course just believing in myself.
I want to be a nursemy goals are all still the same i want to pass and graduateto get into nursing school and that could be a problem
