SFCS Scholars,

Two questions today:

1) What is the best extracurricular activity that you have participated in this semester? Feel free to name all of the ones that you enjoyed.

2) What kind of things are you looking forward to participating in...what's going on around campus...what shouldn't the rest of us miss...

SFCS Scholars,

Heard from several of you that the APA style workshop was helpful (once you found it).

Since that took an hour or so, let's let it count for this Monday mornings class.

I'll be in my office. Come by today if you are dressed up (or just scary looking ;-))

I went to the APA Style workshop last night, and the people from the writing center were very helpful and nice. They gave alot of good advice about writing papers in APA format. I would recommend going to them for help if you ever encounter any problems.

SFCS Scholars,

I hope you have had more time to reflect upon the concept of institutional identity. It is more important to your future than you probably think. The decisions that will be made will be a reflection on your diploma for years to come.

With that in mind please answer two questions for me.

1) What/How was NGCSUs identity presented to you when you were recruited. What is the view of NGCSU in your hometown? What is the view of NGCSU in Dahlonega.

2) Now the fun part, What would you like for NGCSUs identity to be. Give me some honesty and spend some time reflecting on this question before responding.

Thanks, prof_chuck

Tuesday, October 25th

1) During the meeting hour in Newton Oakes 019

2) at 7p.m. in Newton Oakes 107

If our class has good attendance then I will cancel class on Monday, Oct. 31st.

In addition, you should come trick or treating at my office on Monday. I prefer to treat you, trick your professor before grades are turned in is a bad idea. I will either be dressed as the flying spaghetti monster

or as R. Kelly.

I put this on prof_chuck rather than ngcsu_sfcs. oops.

SFCS Scholars,

I'm feeling a bit reflective today, so now you will be too. Hope that works out for you.

I'd like for you to comment on the following questions. Be as honest as you like, reflection is not a time to be politically correct at this stage of your development.

1.) What is it that you enjoy the most about NGCSU?

2.) What about NGCSU fills you with a since of pride?

3.) What would you like to see change about NGCSU?

4.) What about NGCSU embarrasses you?

5.) What about your future here at NGCSU are you most looking forward to?

I look forward to reading your reflective comments. Remember, if you write something that you'd rather not be available for everyone to see you can make it a private post for me or a friends only post for the members of this community.

P.S. I got a call from Wal-Mart and they have our film ready. I'll pick it up between 8 and 9. I'll make the photos available ASAP.

Stressed Out

I was so frustrated this morning. I got up bright and early to sign up for classes and out of the 7 that I wanted I only got 1. It makes me so mad now I have classes at the break of dawn and late at night. But hopefully I can do drop/add. I hope my other students will have better luck.

I'd like for you to be prepared when you go and see your advisor.

Please comment on this post with your desired classes for the spring. Include the title of the course, the number and department, and the CRN #.

Later I'll add the classes that I am teaching in the spring so that you may avoid them like the plague ;-)
